Tariff Tuesday Was Almost a Thing

We had an email all ready to go about the impending US tariffs and their potential impact on the local real estate market. But then, boom!

First, we heard that the Mexican tariffs were on hold for 30 days, and then bingo, the same delay was announced for Canada. It’s a temporary reprieve, but it’s clear now—we’ve been officially put on 30-day notice that the tariffs are coming.  

This whole situation is giving me a scary throwback to March of 2020, when the pandemic lockdowns hit. There was no real notice, just an immediate shift into uncertainty, leaving us scrambling without a clear path forward. It’s a stark reminder of how fast things can change and how crucial it is to be prepared for anything.  

This experience has certainly got me thinking about the importance of readiness. Here’s the thing about uncertainty: it’s not an “if,” it’s a “when.” Sooner or later, change and disruption comes knocking. The best companies and individuals don’t just react to uncertainty—they embrace it. They find ways to turn every challenge into an opportunity, not just for themselves but also for their clients.
