Supporting Our Community: RED Day at KWHGR & the Guelph Food Bank

On Thursday, May 9, 2024, the team at Keller Williams will be painting the town red—but not in the way you might think.

RED Day is our annual day of service, a day when every member of the Keller Williams family around the world sets aside their real estate duties to give back to the community that has given us so much. We aim to Renew, Energize, and Donate our time and efforts back into our communities. This year, we're proud to announce our collaboration with the Guelph Food Bank, an organization that has become very close to our hearts.

Why We’re Supporting the Guelph Food Bank

Throughout the years, our office has had the privilege of working closely with the Guelph Food Bank. We've sorted, packed, and picked up donations, and each visit has left a lasting impression. It's a humbling experience, one that puts into perspective the everyday challenges many of our neighbours face.

May marks the beginning of the food bank’s slowest period for donations, yet the demand for their services remains consistently high. This contradiction between supply and demand is what drives us to step in and help bridge the gap.

The Importance of Community Support

Our involvement with the Guelph Food Bank has shown us first-hand the difference a small group of dedicated individuals can make. Whether it's the smiles of those we're helping or the ‘thank yous’ from the hardworking staff and volunteers at the food bank, the reward is truly in the act of giving itself.

For the Guelph community, the food bank is more than just a place to pick up life necessities. It's a beacon of hope, a reminder that nobody has to face hardship alone. Supporting such an institution not only helps meet immediate needs but also strengthens the fabric of our community as a whole.

RED Day 2024: An Opportunity for YOU to Help Too!

This RED Day, we're not just asking for your moral support; we're inviting you to join us in making a tangible difference. If you have non-perishable food items you can spare, we urge you to contribute to our RED Day initiative. Just give us a call, and a member of our Keller Williams team will gladly come to pick up your donation and deliver it directly to the Guelph Food Bank. Alternatively, any food donations can be dropped off at any of our office locations Monday - Friday between 9 am - 5 pm, either in Guelph or Fergus!

We’re so grateful for any & all donations - your donation really and truly makes an impact in our community. Your donation, no matter the size, can make a significant impact.

Having volunteered at the food bank myself, I can personally attest to the immense need that exists. The work is not only rewarding, but it also highlights the ongoing struggle to keep the shelves stocked all year round. It’s more than just food; it’s providing dignity, support, and a helping hand to those in need.

We're calling on our fellow real estate professionals, supporters of the food bank, and all Guelph residents to stand with us this RED Day. It's an opportunity to come together as a community, lend a helping hand, and demonstrate what we can achieve when we unite for a common cause.
