John Vanderstoep has had a passion for homes since he was a young boy, visiting his grandfather and uncle on construction sites, and playing and eventually working in his father’s building supply businesses.  Already as a teenager, he was selling building materials and helping people think about home improvements.  As an adult, nearly every home John has owned has been extensively renovated, his most recent one on the “Old Golf Course” here in Fergus getting nearly doubled in size.  John has a passion and knowledge of homes and always has.

John also has a passion for helping people.  His first career as a pastor taught him the skills of truly listening to people and helping them work toward the goals they have.  These combined passions have served his real estate clients to achieve the dreams they had, whether it was finding and buying that impossible-to-find home or selling their home at the price and terms that were best for them.  Buyers and Sellers who have worked with John have described him as knowledgeable, patient, detailed, refreshingly honest, and hard-working.  While John is doing most of his work here in Centre Wellington, he has helped clients as far away as Brampton, St. Catherines, Brantford, Hamilton, Cambridge, Kitchener-Waterloo, and many rural locations north of town from Atwood to Dorking to Drayton.  John has served many clients transitioning from one community to another and helping them keep track of all the details that go with that.   He’d love to help you make your next move.

John has lived and volunteered in Centre Wellington for five years and plans to stay for the rest of his life in this fantastic community.  John and his wife Carol love to volunteer in a variety of ways: visiting seniors at Caressant Care, preparing monthly Community Meals, hosting a Generous Space group, serving his church, and now in his fifth year as a Big Brother (and loving it!).  When not serving clients or volunteering, John and Carol love to take advantage of the many trails by walking their dog or biking.  With two high-school-age sons, they love to cheer them on in hockey and soccer.
