A NEW CHAPTER

Every once in a while an opportunity presents itself that you can’t turn down.

Countless times over the years I’ve opened the door to show a home to clients and within 30 seconds they’ve said, this is the one.  Most of them are still in those houses today.

If you’re like me, you’ve probably got at least a handful of memorable moments or points where you made unforgettable decisions. That first date, deciding to propose, choosing “the” path that leads to your dream job.  For some (like me) it was the decision to jump into real estate sales shortly after university. Then it was the decision 11 years ago to open my own brokerage.

Decisions that were risky, yet also promised incredible opportunities.  Decisions that I am grateful I made.

Those decisions didn’t guarantee results.

However, those decisions did motivate me to put every possible effort into getting the results I wanted.

I’ve recently made another one of those decisions.

What started out as a simple coffee between business people, a discussion on where the market was going after COVID19, and how we could better support our agents and clients through collaboration, led to many more conversations and discussions around what we could do for our brokerages, the local real estate community, and our clients.

Each brokerage has unique strengths and talent.

The interesting thing about this is that all of our brokerages are thriving and financially strong, and pre-covid, none of us likely would have even entertained the idea of a merger of equals.

That’s the funny thing about the Real Estate industry.  It’s built on cooperation and collaboration, but only to a point; to get a deal put together.  We are fiercely competitive and independent regardless of the brand or franchise we are part of.

The one thing that Covid has taught, at least to me, is that as much as I thrive on independence, I’ve learned that life is so much easier when you’ve got like minded people working together towards common goals.

If you haven’t guessed by now, or heard through the grapevine, Home Group Realty is coming together and merging with Keller Williams Innovation in Guelph, and Edge Realty Solutions in Fergus and Elora.  Our combined firms will eventually all be flagged as Keller Williams Home Group Realty with offices in Guelph, Fergus, Elora, and Shelburne.

We’re all pretty excited about this opportunity.

We’ve still got some hoops to jump through with regulators and make sure all the i’s are dotted and of course the T’s crossed.

The opportunity for 3 strong brokerages to come together was one of those decisions that just made sense for everyone. The Keller Williams value system is defined as WI4C2TES. The W stands for Win-Win or no deal, and we believe that this was exactly what our merger represents. A win for all.

We’re working on our branding and marketing strategy to reflect the best of what each brokerage brings to the market.  The level of coaching and education from the Keller Williams franchise system that will be available to our agents will help them maintain their edge in the market as some of the most productive and best educated Realtors available.  Our combined resources will allow us to better serve our clients with increased exposure of their properties to the local, national, and international markets.  Investment opportunities outside of our local market are just one of the opportunities our clients will have access to as they build their wealth through real estate.

The real estate market has one constant, and that is change.  We believe this change will allow Keller Williams Home Group Realty to continue to set the bar for innovation and client service in our marketplace.

Our Fiercely Local team is known for their high level of service and knowledge. We now get to take that to the next level!

Enjoy the weekend.
