CANADA DAY

Somehow, we’ve reached the midpoint of 2022.

It seems to be moving at warp speed, and if you’re like me, it’s time for a break.  The first half of 2022 is behind us, and what better way to celebrate the hybrid return to normality than with Canada Day.

When you step back and look at the big picture, Canada is pretty great compared to most countries, warts and all.

I’m going to avoid talking and thinking about inflation, <insert adjective here> politicians, the myriad of issues around the planet, and real estate this long weekend. I plan on a short road trip with my wife to visit family and tour some of the wineries in the Niagara region.  Time to enjoy the beauty of this country, celebrate the diversity of people and cultures I’ll see this weekend – and I plan to see this unfold in slow motion alongside some of my favourite people.

There’s a lot to review and talk about in the coming weeks. We’ve got some exciting news developing. But that can wait.

Whatever you get up to this long weekend, I hope you are able to celebrate this country we call home. It’s not perfect, and like a family, you can put up with the imperfections because the innate goodness within them far outweighs the crazy things you wish they wouldn’t do.

Enjoy your Canada Day weekend.
